Yehrin Tong has a small collection of the most incredible pseudo-Asian art. She has clearly defined typography, with simple twists and waves of dots, and some of the biggest and most complex patterns I've seen yet. She has made art for GQ, Maharishi Womenswear and many other fasion companys.

Check out her stuff

Although it is in Japanese, you can get the idea from the images. What they did is take a stack of oragami paper (thin, fine, colorful and exact squares of paper), make systematic cuts, pull it out and make this incredible design.

The artist Nivbed is one of myfavorite artists because (s?)he has the ability to draw some of the overlooked or ugle things in our life that we have a way of turning away from and somehow making them incredibly intresting.
Check out Nivbed at http://www.nivbed.com/

Probably one of the coolest artist I have ever seen. In each art, he reinvents what a style can be and what everything can be made of; with a new surprise with every new piece of art. Below is one of my favorite bits of typography that is by him.

Click here for his typographic gallery, for those in a hurry.

Well, I was up late a couple nights ago stumbling around (with StumbleUpon) and found a couple pictures that I really liked. I set one as my desktop, and just today, I decided to research the tag that was on the bottom. My results were someone named Adam Simpson. Below is some of his art. See his full page here.

This is a clever trick! This tea cup "improves" over time my taking advantage of the microscopic sized pieces of black tea residue that sticks to grooves in the inside of the cup.

£35 from Bethan Laura Wood.

Over at Digital Artist Toolbox, D.A.T. posted 15 incredible vector illustrations. I never associated vector art with photo realistic qualitys until now. These must have taken quite a while to make...

Over at Anothera, Flashflores made a brilliant tutorial for Cinema 4D where he not only make typography that blends well, it also manages to look as though it fits on to the scene.Well, my only 2Cents on this is I am so bad with 3D Rendering and Drawing programs, I won't break my monitor (let alone my eyes) attempting this.

In Germany (I do now know if or where else it exists), I love going to an art supply store. This company also has fantastic search engines, including TinEye and the Multicolour Search Lab.
TinEye is a reverse search engine that is used by you uploading an image, then it finds where it might be on the internet. It has many uses, including checking if anyone is infringing on your copyright, if you do not know where an image is from and you want to know, etc.
The Multicolour Search Lab is a search engine where you choose colors form their set, and it searches over 3 million images from Alamy Stock Photos. This is useful if you are making a site and you need example pictures that match, making a collage, etc. In another post, I will use some of their photos.

Straight from Japan, the GRiD TAG series of USB memory sticks that come in eight colors, won the Good Design Award and just looks downright adorable. Made by Takuya Matsuda, these USB sticks can loop into eachother, making a chain, be put on a keychain where the other keys are threaded through the rubber or be used for any other porpose imagineable.

This brilliant lamp post, from Stanislav Katz, is just a concept. What I find intriguing is how instead of a yellow set of LEDs, he mixes the red and the orange. This means each color can be brighter as more lights are dedicated to each color than there would be for a set for each color. It saves space because it is only one lamp while saving electricity because of the efficiency of LEDs.

Well, when I first saw this font, it stood out from all the other serif, free fonts I have. I particularly love the curls going out on the serifs and I plan to use the bold for a poster. Download them here.
the Museo font family has five weights (100 300 500 700 900). 3 weights are free, (300 500 700) and two are not (100 900).

Well, Everyone loves a concert, and Fallout Boy is one of my favorites.
I just recently came across a poster of theirs, and it struck me as one of the most thoughtful and brilliant I have ever seen. Click the image for a full size version.

Probably one of the best looking, extremely grungy fonts. Most are either boring, can be made with textures or is lacking and difference from other grunge fonts. A must have for most projects, including as is seen on the font's designer's web site, Last Soundtrack.

Everyone has seen, and maby attempted at making a photo out of other photos in a mosaic style, this program does it for you. It draws photos from an image source of your choice by a search (Flickr, Facebook, etc.) and compiles a photo according to the grid size you choose.

A fun program, completely unknown and open source by a couple students I met at the University Of Illinois (Champaign/Urbana).

Here is their description:

We've all seen clear PSP mods, but this is taking clear to a whole new level. Over at Toxel, they have a collection of a Nikon Camera, a refrigerator, a washing machine, a chair, a mirror, iPod cases, canoes, XBox 360 case, a PS2 case, an iron, a toaster, a chess set, concrete, dice and a bath!

All I can say is: WOW! I especially like the mirror, concrete, toaster and iron.

Well, I don't skate, but this looks hard to use! This modern skate board presented by Loren Kulesus pushes the limits of brillance into the world of design.
